"Il Linguaggio della Resa" - Tony Maiello

Tony Maiello – 21 year-old singer/songwriter hails from Castellammare di Stabia in the province of Napoli. Finishing in fourth place of the television show “The X Factor” (a singing competition much like “American Idol”), Maiello completed his first album in 2008, and his career took off from there. Beyond using his sultry voice, the young artist discovered his need to write, write, and write some more! Influenced by American artists such as, Justin Timberlake, Brian McKnight, Timberland, and Nejo, the young Italian strives to combine R&B with the Pop. The song “Il Linguaggio della Resa” won the “Nuova Generazione” (the new generation) category at this year’s Sanremo competition. We should definitely keep an eye on this young talent as he’s sure to have a long career if he continues to write songs like the one featured here.

Some Tasty Italian Recipes

Okay - so there were too many interesting recipes this month for us to feature only one. If you're in the mood to use an ingredient that you're just not sure what to do with, our friend Ashely Bartner from La Tavola Marche shows us that the leafy vegetable radicchio has more to offer than being part of your next salad. Ashley shows us how to make a hot and crunchy antipasto coupled with cherry tomatoes. Grazie Ashley!

Now onto some dessert! Chef Nick Cascino shows us why La Bella Sicilia is well-known for its unique and mouth-watering desserts. Nick makes it hard to only look at a photo and not want to bite right through it with his Sicilian Ricotta cake and dark chocolate shavings.
